D.O.P. products

The D.O.P. mark is awarded by the European Union after a rigorous selection and analysis of the producing companies that must comply with the strict rules set out in product specifications. Short for Denominazione di Origine Protetta (Protected Designation of Origin), this certification guarantees that the products are made and processed in specific areas and that a specification is followed in the production phase that respects traditional procedures for processing the product and maintaining its peculiarities.

Salumificio Gagliardi has succeeded in combining the art of producing artisan cured meats with today's market requirements, offering products of exquisite taste, fragrance, tenderness and incomparable aroma. Proof of this is the presence of its products in highly specialised and qualified establishments located in important national centres.

 1934 

Thanks to Ubaldo Gagliardi, Salumificio Gagliardi starts its pork and cattle butchery and pork sausage production in San Giorgio, distinguishing itself for its high quality and continuous, passionate search for unique aromas and flavours.

1962

The company acquires a building in San Giorgio to relocate its administrative and operational headquarters.

1975

La scomparsa di Ubaldo, l’arte della lavorazione dei salumi si trasmette al figlio Gian Pietro che, tra i soci fondatori del Consorzio Salumi Tipici Piacentini, partecipa attivamente al lungo cammino per ottenere il riconoscimento del marchio DOP per i tre prodotti tipici della zona: Coppa, Salame e Pancetta.

1975

After Ubaldo's death, the art of cured meat processing is passed on to his son Gian Pietro who, as one of the founding members of the Consorzio Salumi Tipici Piacentini, actively participates in the lengthy process to obtain DOP recognition for the three of the area's typical products: Coppa, Salami and Pancetta.
